This role involves redefining the value of fashion through sustainability principles. You will be at the forefront of shaping the future, inspiring faculty and students to become critical thinkers, adaptive and innovative change instigators, all while navigating the rapidly evolving landscape of the local and global sustainable fashion industry. Your leadership will be crucial in fostering cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to environmental and social challenges within the realm of fashion education.In addition to your academic responsibilities, you will work closely with industry stakeholders and education specialists to develop teaching practices that challenge the status quo. Departing from the conventional risk reduction approach, you will offer opportunities for faculty and students to envision and actively participate in a world and industry where people thrive and contribute to positive change.Provide effective leadership to the Fashion and Sustainability academic team to position the School as a key contributor to Whitecliffe's reputation.Develop and implement a clear strategic vision and plan for the Fashion and Sustainability School in alignment with Whitecliffe's overall strategy. Developing curriculum to support the vision and to ensure adherence to internal quality assurance and external requirements.Further enhance the commitment of the School to teaching quality, providing an enriching student experience, and fostering a student-focused teaching and learning environment.Lead research initiatives within the School, strengthening its capacity for enhanced research outcomes in the discipline.Facilitate self-assessment within the School and contribute to a comprehensive self-assessment approach across the College, ensuring a commitment to evaluative quality assurance.Foster effective relationships with other schools and directorates within Whitecliffe, as well as with community groups, local and regional bodies, professional organisazations, and industry stakeholders.Qualifications and Experience:Relevant Master's degree or equivalent qualification in a related field, and preferably a tertiary teaching qualification.Minimum of 5 years of experience in both academic and industry roles.Proven leading and teaching experience at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, must include experience with programmes in jewellery and fashion with a focus on sustainability.Experience in academic leadership, external moderation, digital design practices, practical garment construction, organising graduate exhibitions and fashion shows, effective teaching practice with evidence of continuous improvement and curriculum design for quality assurance and approval processes.Demonstrated record of excellence in research and education, with evidence of published researchProven capability as an academic leader actively involved in research and teaching programmes.Experience of student-focused teaching practices and participation with student engagement groups such as 'Student Voice', or similar.If you are passionate about driving positive change in the fashion industry through sustainable practices and education, we invite you to apply for this exciting leadership opportunity.Whitecliffe's Rainbow Tick accreditation represents our commitment to the Rainbow community and to providing a safe and inclusive environment for everyoneYour application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?Report this job advert Don't provide your bank or credit card details when applying for jobs.#J-18808-Ljbffr
