Who we are
HEB Construction is a dynamic and innovative leader in the construction of New Zealand's Infrastructure. We are involved with a variety of projects from road construction and maintenance through to earthworks, drainage, marine works, and major projects of national significance.
The opportunity
This newly created role will assist and support the National Health & Safety Manager in driving our commitment to providing and maintaining a safe and healthy working environment for all those involved in our operations. This includes our contractors, suppliers or anyone visiting our sites or offices.
We are searching for an experienced H&S professional who can work closely with our business leaders and staff to build capability through best practice process development and implementation, targeted coaching, contractor management, information dissemination, monitoring and coordinating audits as well as continuous improvement programmes.
You will provide H&S advice and support to the Business Units within the region and work with the HEB operational teams to identify, assess and manage H&S hazards, risk. You will partner with the business to develop and preparation of controls that eliminate or minimise those risks.
You will be able to quickly build relationships at all levels of the organisation, stakeholders and suppliers as well as having the ability to influence change. Ideally you will have experience with the infrastructure or construction industry supporting a large and complex business.
Although this role is based in Christchurch, travel to other regions will be expected.
