About the role This role could be located at any of our main offices on the South Island or in our Auckland head office in stunning Wynyard Quarter. Reporting into the Chief People Officer, the Group Manager- Health, Safety and Wellbeing has overall responsibility and accountability for the leadership and management of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing strategy and frameworks across the whole of Sanford. Your role will involve strengthening and developing Sanford's safety and wellbeing culture throughout our regions, and partnering with leadership across Sanford to drive improvements and ensure our people go home to their families safe and well at the end of each day.
Responsibilities: Develop and execute the appropriate HSW strategies and management systems for an effective health, safety and wellbeing function that delivers a mature high performing HSW culture of zero harmEstablish clear goals and targets to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, compliance with Maritime NZ legislation, the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, WorkSafe NZ guiding principles and company policy, procedure and practiceCoach, influence and develop leaders and the HSW team in HSW matters and set clear expectations of responsibilitiesApproach HSW in Sanford in a pragmatic, hands on way, providing visible leadership across the operational locationsApply exceptional stakeholder management skills to ensure buy in and fit for purpose solutions to achieve Sanford's HSW goals and targetsEnsure that Sanford maintains effective health, safety and wellbeing risk monitoring and mitigation strategies and processes, with visibility of new and emerging areas of riskAbout you: You will be an experienced and dynamic Health, Safety & Wellbeing leader with proven ability to create and inspire behavioural change. Your experience will encompass equal parts strategy and operational excellence, with the ability to translate theoretical knowledge into action. You should thrive in complex, multi-site operations, driving outcomes, and working collaboratively with senior leadership teams.
Education & experience: 10+ years' experience leading Health Safety and Wellbeing teamsRelevant tertiary level educationExperience in complex, multi-site, high risk organisationsThe ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of a businessExceptional communication, influencing and relationship building skillsExceptional leadership skill, with the ability to lead behavioural changeJump on board!
