Are you a dynamic and strategic financial leader looking for a new challenge? We are seeking an experienced Group Finance Manager to be based in Palmerston North and oversee the financial operations of a groupof companies located in Wellington, Palmerston North, Auckland and Australia.These businesses are growing rapidly and need an experienced Finance Manager to be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end financial operations of the business.
In this pivotal role, you will ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly accounts, guide and support financial staff, work with the leadership teams of each business to provide financial insights and support on key projects and critical business decisions.
As the Group Financial Manager, you will play a critical role in streamlining systems and processes, driving efficiency, and ensuring the group operates in the most effective and efficient manner. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing standardized policies and establishing efficient systems across the group.

The Role in more detail Ensure the accuracy and timeliness of monthly accounts for each company.Guide and support the financial staff of each company.Prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts, and monthly reports against budget.Ensure that regulatory reporting and tax requirements are completed and accurately.Ensure EOY accounts are accurate and balanced before presenting to external accountants.Manage the intercompany loans to ensure sufficient operating capital and minimize external borrowing.Regularly review income and expenditure to ensure cashflow is adequate to meet future business needs.Provide financialsupportand insights for the leadership team aroundspecific projects and critical business decisions.Coordinate the management and governance reports and prepareand present financial results and insights to theBoard and leadership team.Develop relationships with external partners(Accountants, Lawyers, IT Service providers, Banks in NZ and Australia).Drive process improvements, and implement finance processes, controls and standardisation across the business.Development of Financial and tax policy for the group, working with Deloitte.Working on projects for the business, evaluating risk and the cost-benefit of capital acquisitions and their funding.Investigate opportunities where the group buying power will provide benefits to the business, such as opening group accounts with suppliers.Review (audit) compliance activities to ensure that they meet the required standards.Development of specific financial policy for operating a business in Australia and ensure all Australian Compliance requirements are met and adhered to.Review and streamline systems and policies across the group, working to standardize them (e.g., HR, Payroll, Business Terms & Conditions, H & S audits, IT, Project Contracts).Coordinate the implementation of changes, or updates across the business.About You: Experience in management / cost /contract accounting.Strong commercial acumen with a good understanding of profitability.Sound decision-makingskillsbased on accurateand timely analysis.Advanced negotiation, influencing, andstakeholder management capability.Expertise in running financial systems.Experience in managing and improving administration functions an advantage.Team orientation with strong interpersonal skills, and the ability toguide and coach peopleAbility to manage time and a varied workload through prioritisation.Exhibits initiative and flexibilityStrategicthinking, planning,andcreativeproblem-solving skillsEnthusiastic about continuous improvement and best practices.Dedicated work approach and genuine interest for growing businessCA qualification preferred, with min 6+ NZ years in a similar roleProficient with the MS Office Suite, MYOB, and MS Project.The Rewards: $140K - $160K salary, negotiable on experience.Health Insurance for you and support for the familyCompany-Sponsored Education Fund for your familyWe hope to attract someone who is looking for a long-term career and will be keen to get stuck in add value to this growing company.
