The consents team is responsible for processing resource management applications in compliance with associated legislation including the RMA. Your responsibilities include (but are not limited to): provide best practice advice on the processing of resource and building consents applications learn to process resource consent applications, variations, alterations/requirements for designations, creation/cancellation of easements and various certificates in accordance with the RMA and the district plan liaise and negotiate with applicants and submitters assist senior team members to authorise draft resource consent decisions from external consultants assist with queries in regards to PIMS, LIMS and process RFS To be successful in this role you will: have an appropriate tertiary qualification in planning, resource management or environmental management (ideally this will be an NZPI accredited planning degree) possess strong drive to succeed and are motivated by continuous improvement possess high attention to detail, organisation and communication skills be passionate about developing a career in planning About Council With assets including Fiordland National Park and Stewart Island, Council not only encompasses the management and improvement of physical assets such as roads, bridges, water supply, cemeteries and parks but also the Southland communities' social, economic, cultural and environmental wellbeing.
