We are seeking a qualified General Practitioner to provide clinical leadership and advice to the Te Whatu Ora, Te Tai Tokerau hospital and specialist services on activities spanning the hospital/ primary care interface with specific emphasis on equity; quality, best practice and protecting consumer interests. Here is an excellent opportunity to bring your creativity and innovation whilst working autonomously on new projects. There are growing opportunities to work within a regional operating model. This GP Liaison Officer role encompasses the following major functions/ key result areas: • Engagement and interface with Primary Care • (Participate in) Clinical Governance (in Te Tai Tokerau) • Participate in service redesign projects and initiatives • Supporting the development, maintenance, and socialisation of Clinical Pathways As the successful candidate you will ideally bring a primary care sector background as well as experience and knowledge of clinical quality; best practice, consumer roles and equitable practice. You will have an in depth understanding of the Northland community including challenges and issues in the general practice space. Te Whatu Ora is committed to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and holds stewardship for equitable health outcomes for Maori as Tangata Whenua as the highest priority. To be considered you must have or be eligible for specialist (or locum tenens) registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand in a General Practise scope of practice.
