There's a huge amount of legislative advice, administration and coordination that goes into making sure that our Council and Committee Meetings run efficiently and adhere to all the legislative requirements. The Governance Support Advisor role plays a pivotal part in this. This role is part of a small team that is responsible for leading and coordinating support services to our Council, Councillors and Community Boards. This includes providing meeting support in a local government setting and guiding relationships between Council, Elected Members, Iwi partners, and the wider community.
Ko wai koe | About you Ideally, you'll be familiar with Local Government and have experience in the Governance Support space. You'll need outstanding administration experience and a sharp eye for detail. You will navigate complex processes and documents so we're looking for someone who can pick things up quickly and roll with the changes and challenges that come with this role. You'll also have great listening and communication skills, political nous and an engaging manner which enhances our support services. You'll be joining a team that envisions being better together, so you'll be a team player that upholds the values that a bunch of staff developed together (see below).
