Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity Medical Department Registrars Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti has exciting opportunities for Medical Registrars to join the Medical Department in Casual positions.

The Gisborne Medical Department consists of six Physicians in General Medicine with sub-specialty interests and two outpatient Consultant Cardiologists as well as specialist nurses and visiting sub-specialists. As part of your inpatient duties, you will participate in medical admissions and management with an unselected medical take, giving you exposure to a wide range of medical presentations and procedures. 
Gisborne Hospital, a 110 bed acute care hospital which serves a wide geographical area, Tairawhiti, extending up the East Cape of New Zealand, creating enormous scope and variety in the work available to an enthusiastic registrar. Providing healthcare to a population of 54,000, Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti is well supported locally by comprehensive surgical services and has a full range of diagnostic facilities on site including a new MRI scanner and CT scanner. We have strong ties with our tertiary referral centre in Waikato.
Experience and Eligibility  You must be a currently employee of Te Whatu Ora. 
Suitable for Resident Medical Officers who will be PGY2+ or above. 
You will have eligibility for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Information on the process of application for this can be found on their website at http://www.mcnz.org.nz/
