Maungaharuru-Tangit Trust is a post settlement Trust based in the magnificent Hawkes Bay. The Trust represents hap including Marangathetaua - also known as Ngati T, Ngti Kurumkiki, Ngti Whakaari, Ngi Tauira, Ngi Te Ruruku ki Tangoio, and Ngi Tahu. A highly successful and innovative Trust with over 5,000 registered members, which seeks to strengthen (our) culture to provide a sense of belonging, identity, confidence and pride.
To continue the great mahi the Trust has delivered, we are seeking a highly experienced General Manager to provide leadership and to work in partnership with the Board to be accountable for overall organisational success. Demonstrating superior operating skills; financial acumen; the ability to manage risk; and the means to formulate a plan of action and execute it swiftly and decisively. Your career will have been founded on credibility, and a proven track record and hands-on involvement in the organisations in which youve lead.
Key accountabilities of the position are to include;
Further growing the Trusts prosperity in a sustainable manner.
The guidance of day to day operational management.
Planning, reporting, financial and staff management.
Leading overall organisational strategic direction.
The review of current strategies, and development of new opportunities.
Translating vision and concepts into strategic and operational plans.
Establishing, maintaining and enhancing key strategic partnerships.
Developing and implementing an annual business planning and reporting framework.
Providing support to the Board including high quality, accurate information and analysis.
Provide risk and gap analysis.

Key is your ability to lead with mana and exceptional cultural competency which will allow you to strengthen existing strategic partnerships with stakeholders both internally and externally.
Essential criteria and experience for this role are to include;
Prior experience in a CEO or GM position preferably within a Mori organisation.
Te Reo Mori me na tikanga.
The demonstrated ability as a people influencer.
Proven relationship management and expert communication skills.
First rate fiscal and business acumen.
Extensive report writing and delivery experience.
Superior operating skills; financial and business acumen; operational planning, budgetary development and delivery.
Strategic skills and the past management experience to translate strategy into reality.
Proven relationship management and expert communication skills.
A strong track record in operational management.
A relevant tertiary qualification.

With five plus years of relevant operational management experience, underpinned by a track record of success; you will be skilled in the development of employee capability.
Naturally, you will have had extensive experience in a similar, senior position, and be looking for a career step forward. Youll be a leader within business, and additionally within the communities you operate in. You will have the mana and tikanga to bring diverse and broad groups together, to lead and foster a centralised way of working, one which harnesses change and drives culture as a central point to work from.
