Our vision is to see New Zealanders from refugee backgrounds fully participating in Aotearoa New Zealand life.We are looking for a General Manager to join and lead our small and friendly team working with 20+ refugee background/resettled communities within the Wellington region. Our ideal candidate will have experience in management and supporting staff to develop and grow professionally. You will have an understanding of the complexities of refugee resettlement and the ability to connect and build relationships across refugee background communities and stakeholder groups. You will respect cultural differences and have the ability to work sensitively with an openness to learning. While not essential we welcome applications from people from refugee backgrounds.Purpose of the Position:The General Manager is responsible for providing overall management of the day-to-day operations of the organization, including strategic leadership to achieve ChangeMakers' vision, leading and developing the operational team, managing funding and service level agreements, overseeing financial viability, and maintaining strong relationships with refugee-background communities and external stakeholders.Key Accountabilities:- Lead strategic planning and governance support.- Secure funding, ensure financial sustainability, and manage risk.- Build and maintain relationships with communities and stakeholders.- Drive advocacy efforts to influence policy and representation.- Passion for refugee rights and understanding of resettlement challenges.- Demonstrated leadership experience in the nonprofit sector.- Proficiency in financial management and fundraising.- Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and manage competing priorities.Please submit a cover letter and CV to [email protected] .
