The client
Our client is a well known finance company who provides investment opportunities outside of the banks. They're NZ owned and operated and have experienced significant growth, with no plans of slowing down anytime soon!
The current General Manager of Credit and Lending is retiring, who has been with the company for a long time. Make no mistake, we're looking for the best of the best to fill his place.
To be considered for this role you will be a lending and credit specialist who isn't afraid to get stuck in. You will be a solid commercial lender who understands law. We're looking for someone to grow with the company and develop overtime.
Based in Auckland's CBD, we're looking for someone who has 10-15 years experience behind them in a similar role, who is good with documentation and numbers.
The role in a nut shell:
The primary focus of this role will be around the development and management of the companies lending book. To manage the lending and recovery process. This will include the originating, management and collection of loans. To ensure that processes and procedures are in place to ensure risk assessment is completed in a way that the approval parties can understand and assess whether the risk is quantified, and that it is one that the company wishes to accept.
Some of your key duties will include:
Originate, asses and process loans
Gain approval for loans
Ensure procedures are in place and they are followed e.g. credit checks, valuations, and income verification
Gain return on the companies book agreed with the CEO and set out in an annual plan
Instruct solicitors
Complete payouts
Manage loan books
Deal with recoveries
Complete board reports
Contribute to planning and strategy
Assist the Managing Director

Requirements for the role
A strong finance and banking background with 10-15 years experience in a similar role
A solid commercial lender
Excellent legal knowledge
Meticulous attention to detail
Advanced computer skills including Word, Excel, and associated finance systems
Strong market knowledge
Due to this being a permanent opportunity, those only with NZ Citizenship or residency will be considered
