Santa Gertrudis is one of the nation's leading beef cattle breeds.
The Santa Gertrudis Breeders (Australia) Association (SGBAA) is responsible for the promotion of the Santa Gertrudis Breed, its members and their interests, and contributing to the Australian beef industry. Santa Gertrudis is currently seeking to appoint a General Manager with passion and vision to develop and lead the business forward.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic business leader with the capability of strategic and innovative thinking to maximise business opportunities. They will be a highly skilled communicator who is able to prioritise tasks, lead and develop a small team of employees, as well as work collaboratively with the Council to achieve the agreed objectives and outcomes.
Requirements for the position;
Develop and maintain a key network of stakeholder relationships
Identifying, developing and maintaining effective relationships with key participants throughout the beef industry supply chain to promote Santa Gertrudis cattle as a profitable and productive breed for their needs
Strategic commercial thinking, financial planning and management
Demonstrated ability to develop strategies for company growth and to identify new business opportunities
Drive credibility of brand image through its publicity program, event management and media coverage
Provide resources to Councillors for meetings and act as the trusted link between policy decisions and business operations
Positive business leadership through excellent people management of our small but integral staff and communication with Association members that thrive on encouragement and support.
Flexibility and adaptability to work demand
Ability to identify and develop strategies to successfully compete in the evolving beef market and economic climate.

Location:Based in Brisbane and would involve frequent travel throughout Australia.
