This is an exciting opportunity to support and continue to build a community of Garden to Table schools in Te Tai Tokerau, Northland with the support of a very helpful and friendly team of colleagues across the motu.The Garden to Table Regional Coordinator, Te Tai Tokerau Northland role is flexible, you will work from your home office, and we promise you will have wonderful colleagues and enjoy being part of our super friendly team. The rewards of helping to empower tamariki, whanau and hapori to build connection with each other through growing and sharing kai and caring for Papatuanuku make every working day enriching.You will be the local face of Garden to Table, supporting schools and kura with their programmes, developing strong community relationships, and working collaboratively with other organisations. You'll be an upbeat, collaborative and pragmatic problem-solver with a positive, 'can-do' attitude, who is willing to go the extra mile. You'll be comfortable working with teachers and school principals one minute and community groups and corporate sponsors the next.You don't have to be a skilled cook or gardener, but you MUST be passionate about making a positive difference to support more tamariki to discover a love for growing, harvesting, preparing and sharing great kai. Candidates with existing relationships with local community organisations are strongly desired and presenting/training experience would be an advantage.This is a positive, rewarding, exciting and busy role a nd, you won't work school holidays, so more time to enjoy with your whanau and friends!Garden to Table Trustis proud to be an equitable workplace, where wewelcome and accept diversity and difference. The rate of pay will be $ 37.13 per hour, $29,704 per annum.You will also receive $10 per week of the school term towards home office and phone expenses. You'll get an extra day off each year for your ra whanau (birthday). And you'll get an extra day off each year for your hauora (wellbeing) - your Garden to Table "cool as a cucumber" day off.This is a work-from-home role and you will need your own transport and mileage will be reimbursed.Key responsibilities includeDeveloping a vibrant community of Garden to Table schools through activities such as specialist meetings, teacher meetings and open visits and being the local representative of the Garden to Table TrustMaintaining a relationship with 'Garden to Table Model Schools' and ensure the standard of their Garden to Table programme is maintainedDelivering group Garden to Table training to local schools, as outlined in the Garden to Table training manuals, to a required standardEngaging and collaborating with other community groups such as Enviroschools, Heart Foundation, local councils and maraeDeveloping volunteer relationships to support Garden to Table schools and r aising awareness within the local community to support volunteering at Garden to Table schoolsBeing a local contact point for funders and sponsors, and developing local business relationships and i dentifying potential donors and sponsors of the Trust, and passing these to the relevant fundraising staff members for follow-upEnsur ing accurate records are maintained within the relevant CRM systemContinuing to promote Garden to Table to the wider school community, including presentations to CoLs/Kahui Ako , Principals meetings, etc.Identifying and co-ordinating with other Garden to Table staff, such as the Communications Manager to source ideas and content for staff to create stories and news for communications purposes.Skills and experienceThe ideal candidate will bring experience working with or in schools, a love for working in not-for-profits, and a track record of community focused mahi that contributes to Garden to Table's kaupapa: https://gardentotable.org.nz/kaupapaYou will demonstrate -You are highly collaborative and a real team-player and demonstrate a solutions-focused work styleE xcellent verbal and written communication skills - the ability to communicate effectively, professionally, and respectfully is importantA proven ability to work with a wide cross section of people and communities. Confident to use communications systems to work with colleagues from a distanceStrong administration skills - maintain good records and regularly report on work progressProven ability to think strategically and turn it into actions that make a difference on the groundHigh level interpersonal skills including the ability to liaise internally and externally with schools and supporters and suppliersOrganisational , administration and time management skills.
