Functions Operations Leader (Duty Manager) Trinity Wharf Tauranga is an over-water hotel, restaurant and events destination. It is owned by a local family whose dream was to highlight the spectacular beauty and spirit of the Tauranga harbour that is so integral to the Bay of Plenty lifestyle. We have an exciting opportunity to be part of our Functions team as a Functions Operations Leader.  JOB DESCRIPTION: Reporting to the F&B Operations Manager, you will specialise in Function and Event Operations for the hotel. Lead the Functions team on your shift, ensuring that the expectations of our clients and staff are met (if not bettered), by consistently working professionally and efficiently. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: You will: Maintain familiarity with Trinity Wharf's Event Management tool to directly seek relevant information for current and future events. Coordinate the daily operation of Function and Event services. Support employees on the floor to ensure all tasks are completed on time, and that there is consistent delivery of top quality service. Alongside the Assistant F&B Manager, conduct motivational pre-service briefing with the Functions team to ensure the event runs smoothly as per functions run sheet. Prepare position assignments, break schedules, event duties, and responsibilities. Create and distribute floor plans for Functions and Events to assist with the operational delivery of each function. Assist and document deliveries for Functions and Events including but not limited to parcels, Audio Visual suppliers, theming/furniture companies and external catering. When necessary, liaise with other service departments and chefs to ensure all guest requirements are understood, communicated, and met. This extends to any third party vendors (e.g. AV technicians, stylists, guest speakers etc.). (Full job descriptions available on request). KEY REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience working in Events or Functions teams. LCQ qualification and holder of a current Manager Certificate – Liquor First Aid Certificate. Experience in skills training, coaching and motivating of employees. A high level of energy and demonstrated flexibility in Customer Service. Enthusiastic, self-motivated and highly organised. A passion for mixing and serving beverages and a sound wine and food knowledge. Computer literate. Knowledge of POS technology. Ability to work competently under pressure.  Reliable & flexible to change.   Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted.
