Reporting to the Technical Lead, the Front End Developer sits within the wider Digital Engineering Tribe and is responsible for the delivery of coded enhancements and changes for a wide range of features and functionality within the associated squad. In particular you’ll be comfortable working with React and React Native and enjoy developing responsive web and mobile applications.
As a Front End Developer you’ll be expected to demonstrate skills in the analysis, design, writing and execution of new and existing code, alongside holding accountability for the creation and maintenance of code artefacts. You’ll also be expected to grow an ability to utilise common frameworks across the relevant technology stack.
What Will I Be Doing?
Understanding our customers and your part in the end to end delivery of great digital solutions for them, including the continuous improvement and operations of these solutions.
Developing responsive websites and mobile applications, or components of those, that render well across multiple devices and browsers, are secure, optimised for speed and scalability, and provide excellent user experience.
Creating, producing and maintaining source code and artefacts, documenting code, conducting unit testing and fixing defects.
Playing an active role in advocating the need for continuous improvement.
Contributing your enthusiasm and skills to the successful delivery of your squad, demonstrating and Agile mind-set and advocating a culture of collaboration and teamwork.
Staying up to date on emerging technologies and trends within the industry.
What Will I Bring?
Experience of a full development stack suitable for Agile App and Web software delivery – we use React native, Java and JavaScript (including frameworks).
An understanding of the Agile mindset including key elements such as continuous process improvement, story writing and test-driven design/development.
The ability to work in a squad-oriented, collaborative environment.
An understanding of software best practices such as test driven development and continuous integration.
Strong communication and skills and experience working as part of a high-performing team.
