Freight Hub Manager

We're looking for a candidate to fill this position in an exciting company.

The key function of this role is to manage the freight operation at the Christchurch hub this includes the trucks, drivers and getting the companies freight requirements moved. Also, to adhere to the company's freight processes and procedures for the Christchurch Region. You have 11 direct reports so people management is very critical for being successful in this role. The role is Monday to Friday 7am till around 6pm and may also require a Saturday morning, so around the 50-55 hour week. You will be predominately based out at the airport location however they do have a second operation in Islington which you may also spend time at.

Leadership experience in previous or similar roles
Experience in H&S
Previous dispatch experience would be an advantage
Excellent time management and organisational skills
Thinks outside the box and will use your initiative
Attention to detail
A team player with the ability to work well under pressure
Excellent communication; verbal & written
Advanced level in Microsoft Word and Excel
Have had experience on 2IC CHEP, E-Road and ICOS would be an advantage
Pro-active and resourceful with excellent time management
Must be able to take ownership
Must be professional, well mannered and have a sense of humour
Having a forklift licence (OSH & F) would be beneficial but not essential
Be able to pass a pre-employment drug test
