Ready to make an impact? We're looking for a Franchise Development Manager to join our team here in Auckland or in Christchurch reporting to our GM Franchise.
Joining us, you'll be responsible for leading the development and execution of the Freshchoice business development strategy to ensure sustainable network growth and profitability in alignment with our overall organisational strategy.
About the Role | Mo te Turanga In this role, you will develop and implement an effective franchisee sourcing strategy (both internal and external) to ensure a robust pipeline of potential franchisees for expanding the Freshchoice network. This includes the identification and thorough assessment of franchisee candidates.
You will serve as a brand ambassador for the Freshchoice franchise, promoting its values and objectives while taking the ownership of the franchise market planning and collaborating closely with the relevant stakeholders.
This position involves travelling across both the North and South Island.
You will also be responsible for:
Overseeing and approving franchisee sales and transfers, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
Providing training and facilitating the development of capabilities for new franchisees, ensuring their readiness and enhancing their potential for success.
Leading the initiatives for capability building, performance management, and recognition programs within the franchise network.
Collaborating with the Property & Site Acquisition team to align franchisees with suitable new store opportunities.
Providing governance and oversight for format trials and test-and-learn initiatives.
Monitor and drive refurbishment obligations end-to-end as needed.
Lead negotiations and deal-making processes with franchisees, offering strategic incentives for unit growth, format trials, and refurbishments.
Conduct thorough research on customer needs and market trends, utilizing data and insights to shape business development strategies.
Integrate other franchise businesses to be implemented into the FreshChoice network, such as Lotto, NZ Post, cafes and other food options.
You'll leverage your business acumen to drive results and make a significant impact to the business by bringing in your senior business development experience in a retail environment.
Travel will be required as part of the role.
To succeed in this role, you'll bring in:
Prior experience working with Franchisees and/or high-volume retail operations.
Proven ability to build strong business relationships being a sharp negotiator.
