What we look for in a Forklift Operator:
We are looking for 2 suitably qualified and experienced Forklift Operators to work within our Port Otago Warehouses.
Things you should know about the roles:
We are looking for two suitably qualified and experienced Forklift Operators to work within our Port Otago Warehouses permanently.
One position is predominantly Monday through to Friday. You will be available to work across both of our shifts, 7am - 3.30pm or 3pm-11pm. The successful candidate will also need to be flexible as some overtime may be required, and the occasional Saturday during busy periods and stock take time.
The other position is a permanent seasonal role and employees will be engaged on the basis that they will work no less than 1900 hours per annum. Hours will predominantly be Monday to Friday, with some weekend and shift work depending on shipping and distribution schedules.
It is important to note that because Port Otago has multiple warehouses in close proximity to our Port Chalmers terminal, you could be required to work any shift in any of the Port Otago Supply Chain warehouses in Port Chalmers, Sawyers Bay, Mosgiel or Dunedin.

Some of the qualities we are looking for:

Demonstrated forklift experience in a warehouse environment
A current driver's license with F (Forklift) Endorsement
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
An eye for detail and the desire to meet and surpass given standards
Someone who enjoys being a part of a busy team and enjoys working to tight deadlines
A positive attitude and a flexible approach to working
A current OSH Forklift certificate will be an advantage
Safety is our #1 priority and therefore preferred applicants will be required to have a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol tests. Port Otago also conducts random drug and alcohol tests on an on-going basis. Full Ministry of Justice Checks and ACC records will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
