Food & Beverage Supervisor (Conference & Events) The James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor is one of Wellington's most well-known Hotels. Grand Hotels International is known for quality accommodation, exceptional service, convenient locations and outstanding conference and meeting facilities.The James Cook Hotel Grand Chancellor is a versatile Conference and Events venue for a wide range of events. We have 8 Conference rooms in a variety of sizes, with the largest seating up to 240 guests theatre style and 200 guests banquet style.As an essential member of the food and beverage supervisory team, quality service and high standards are very important to ensure we meet and exceed customer expectations. This is a hands on physical role which involves the setting up of Conference rooms with the lifting and moving of heavy objects, such as tables, chairs and other furniture. This role requires a team player with an abundance of energy and passion.The ideal candidate for this role will:Assist the Conference team to improve operational standards.Build relationship with conference clients.Train and mentor team members.Flair & passion for the food and beverage industry.Be enthusiastic about delivering great customer service.Ability to lead, develop and motivate a team.Ability to multi-task and think on their feet in a busy environment.A positive and proactive attitudeThe position will include, but not limited to:In conjunction with the Conference Operations Manager to ensure every Conference & Event is well planned and all necessary requirements and resources are pre-arranged and checked.Establish and maintain a rapport with all clients, anticipating their needs and fulfilling their requests in a professional and courteous manner.Ensure that immediate action is taken in relation to problem solving.To maintain and uphold "Host Responsibility" associated with alcohol consumption and the laws pertaining to such.
