This role is part of a small team onsite tasked with creating engineering solutions for the production of concrete pipes that will be used in the company's manufacturing sites.This is a role for someone that likes making new things and solving challenging problems. It will suit a person that can talk through their ideas with their colleagues, experiment with a few ideas, pick the best solution and then manufacture it. You'll then work with the manufacturing sites to make sure they're happy with the solution.Responsibilities include:Building solutions to engineering problems for the company's manufacturing sites‘Owning' the problem until the customer is happy with the solutionOrdering the materials and supplies you'll needCleaning up after yourselfDemonstrate a positive Health and Safety engagement whilst producing high-quality workOccasionally working at the manufacturing sitesKey Attributes for the roleYou know how stuff works because you've pulled everything apartGood at putting it back together and making it betterAble to weld Arc, MIG, TIGAble to use a lathe, mill, press and any other equipment in a fitter workshopExcellent communication skillsFull NZ driver licence class 1Previous experience in using a forklift in a workshop environmentGood working knowledge of industrial machinery, CAD, hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical systems an advantageWho we are:Founded in 1973, Hynds is New Zealand's premier product supplier for the management of wastewater and water-based waste products in the civil and rural infrastructure markets.
