Reporting to the Head of Finance, as Financial Controller you'll ensure the financial health and stability of Futureverse by overseeing and managing all financial activities.
What you'll be doing Support the Head of Finance, Finance Manager and wider Finance team. Manage the accounting and financial reporting functions of the company. Supervise the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely payment of bills and accurate recording of customer payments. Oversee the month-end close process, including the preparation of financial statements and related schedules. Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports for management, investors, and other stakeholders. Manage the budgeting process, including the development of annual budgets and monthly forecasts. Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations. Manage the company's cash flow, including forecasting and monitoring of cash balances. Manage relationships with external auditors, tax advisors, and other financial service providers. Manage the external annual audit. Preparation of R&D incentives and grants. Provide financial analysis and support to senior management, including ad-hoc analysis and special projects. Participate in the development of long-term financial strategies and plans. Key outcomes Financial Reporting Budgeting and Forecasting Cash Management including Cryptocurrencies Compliance Financial Analysis Team Management (currently four direct reports) Who we're looking for You'll have proven work experience as a Financial Controller. You'll have an entrepreneurial mindset and always willing to jump in and help your teammates. 5+ years of combined accounting & finance experience. Must be CPA or CA certified. Degree in Accounting. You must be based in Auckland. Advanced knowledge in Excel. Experience in Fathom Financial Reporting Software. Advanced experience in Xero Accounting Software. Experience in iPayroll is advantageous. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures. Experience with creating financial statements. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
