Financial Accountant

The Opportunity This is a fantastic first commercial opportunity for a CA qualified accountant who is looking to build a long-term corporate accounting future! A genuinely varied role which will allow you to build into senior accounting roles in the future, the successful candidate will contribute to the statutory reporting and tax processes, management reporting & analysis and systems & process improvements, all of which are essential skills for Finance Managers and accounting leaders. Additionally, the systems and reporting packages utilised by the company will provide invaluable experience for candidates looking to build their large corporate experience. The Company An iconic and dynamic organisation, renowned in Christchurch for providing its staff with variety in their role as well as genuine work life balance The Role - Contributing to the preparation of quarterly, half yearly and annual Financial Statements, including external audit - Assisting with monthly accounting procedures and reporting for the group and subsidiary entities - Tax compliance activities, including income tax, GST, FBT and RWT calculations and submissions - Ownership of the group fixed asset register, including associated project capitalisation accounting - Working with a continuous improvement mindset to ensure systems and processes and operating efficiently and effectively Your Profile - Qualified CA or CPA with three or more years' experience in a CA firm - Experience with accounting issues as they relate to large, complex entities - Excellent Excel ability, with exposure to large ERPs viewed favourably - Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills - Self-motivated, outcome driven work ethic with exceptional time management - Hold full, unrestricted working rights for New Zealand For more information on this role please contact Tom Askham on 021 390 689 , or apply below.
