Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology Ltd (NMIT) is looking for a Finance Manager to lead their finance team based in the sunny Nelson CBD.
The Finance Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management of the finance function providing specialist finance advice and information on the financial environment and operations whist ensuring the division is aware of and comply with all financial obligations.
This is a 12 month fixed term full time role (40 hours pw) established to support thefinance functionwhile we await the next steps for vocational education in Aotearoa. NMIT is a division of Te Pukenga - New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology, and is responsible for delivering vocational education and training across the Nelson Marlborough region.Reporting to the Regional Finance Director this role is based on the Nelson Campus to support the NMIT leadership team during this transition.
Key responsibilities As a member of the wider management team, your key responsibilities will be to:
Provide leadership to the Finance team,Ensure high quality, accurate and timely financial advice is provided to the Senior Leadership Teams (SLT), and to all managers throughout the division,Ensure all Te Pukenga Finance, SLT reporting requirements are met on time and to a high quality,Implement strategic plans,undertake businessplanning, reporting,budgeting and forecasting.To be successful in this role you will need:
Chartered Accountancy qualification, including membership of CAANZ or equivalent, WITH11+ years' experience in related field, of which at least 5+ years' relevant experience at a senior or middle management level.Proven experience in effectively managing continuous improvement, organisational change, and stakeholder engagement.Experience in supporting the financial strategic development planning process.Demonstrated ability to apply sound financial management principles and support recommendations with quantitative data.Experience working within a Tertiary Education provider or public serviceis desirable.
