Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Finance Business Partner for a 6-month fixed term contract based in Wellington. This role provides an exciting opportunity to support the business partnering team as a floating resource, covering periods of extended leave or absences. What you'll do:
As a Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial landscape of our client's organisation. Your primary responsibility will be to provide critical support to the business partnering team by acting as a floating resource. You will be entrusted with preparing monthly governance reporting packs, providing strategic advice, and driving continuous improvement within the team. Your ability to adapt quickly and maintain a comprehensive understanding of all portfolios will be key to your success in this dynamic role.
Responsible for the consolidated monthly financial picture and forward view of the organisationPrepare monthly governance reporting packsProvide strategic advice and recommendations to the Manager Finance Business Partnering and Director Finance Service DeliveryFocus on continuous improvement including embedding consistent practices across the teamWork towards removing bespoke reporting and templates currently in useAct as a floating resource, covering periods of extended leave or absences from the Finance Business Partnering teamWhat you bring:
The ideal Finance Business Partner will bring a wealth of experience and a diverse skill set to the role. You will have extensive practical experience in finance or accounting within a large organisation, including senior management experience. Your strong business acumen, excellent leadership skills, and ability to build effective working relationships will be key to your success. A high level of computer literacy and knowledge of relevant standards and regulations are essential for this role. A professional accounting/finance qualification equivalent to CA level or an international equivalent is required.
Business / commercial acumen is desirableProven quantitative and qualitative analytical skills, incorporating problem solving, decision making and creative thinking at a senior levelDemonstrated sound work management practices including structured approach to task/project management, ability to operate to deadlineExcellent leadership and management skillsExcellent communication skills, both written and oral, suitable for experts and non-financial audiencesDemonstrated ability to build effective working relationships within team and across business to achieve desired outcomesExcellent working knowledge of relevant standards, principles, policies, systems and processes, procedures, guidelines, practice and regulations including Public Finance Act -1989, Financial Reporting Act-1993, NZ and international accounting and reporting standards (including audit and risk management), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Defence Act-1990 (awareness)Understanding of the organisation's business, its roles, structures and command chains, and the political, social, cultural and economic environment it operates inExtensive knowledge and understanding of management accounting and financial management principles and practicesHigh level of computer literacy with spreadsheets, word processing and data management software including Microsoft suite of products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint); experience with an ERP package is desirableApply today or reach out to Henry Maling directly for a confidential discussion on 027 363 3496 or ******
