Reporting directly to the Medical Regional Service Manager, the successful applicant will be an experienced Field Service Engineer with a high level of IT skills. Working together with our New Zealand team, you will provide remote and phone support, remote diagnosis, testing and breakdown repairs to a wide range of high-end devices and software located across New Zealand.First & foremost you will be an experienced Field Service Engineer, preferably within the medical device field and will have complementary IT skills giving you proficiency in Networking, Device Setup and Software navigation.In addition to the technical aspects, this position requires excellent customer service, interpersonal and communication skills. This is a unique role where your time would be split between servicing and repairing medical devices as well as servicing and maintaining ZEISS integration software.The key responsibilities for this position includes (but not limited to): Maintain effective relationships with customers by gaining their respect and trustOnsite repairs, diagnostics and installation of designated high-end products and softwareInstall, configure, and maintain software applications, operating systems, and patchesStrong troubleshooting skills, provide technical support for customers and escalate as necessaryAbility to communicate technical issues on a non-technical levelEye for detailExcellent time management skills and networking experience is essentialAbility to follow company policies and proceduresExcellent telephone manner and interpersonal skillsDiagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on Zeiss medical devices as well as Zeiss Integration software – Forum.Collaborate with external IT team members to troubleshoot network connectivity and performance problems.Assist in system upgrades and data backups,Provide user training and support on technology-related topicsDocument technical procedures, maintain accurate records of support activitiesOnsite repairs, diagnostics and installation of designated high-end products and softwareExcellent telephone manner and interpersonal skillsMaintain service tools and equipment and provide accurate compliance of all field service administration and reporting requirementsThe key skills required for this role include:Formal qualifications in biomedical engineering or the electronic field, with additional learning across IT.Strong communication skills, business level in EnglishMinimum 2 years of successful experience in servicing of precision equipment & IT support preferably within the Medical Device fieldExcellent IT knowledge and awareness in PC supported instrument diagnostics would be an advantage. A high level of computer literacy and networking is essential with the ability to work unsupervisedKnowledge of the DICOM standard, SQL and PACS is desirable although not mandatory.Past proven experience in a customer orientated environment with exceptional customer service and the ability to deal with difficult situations and customersA forward thinker who can prevent problems before they ariseA process driven individual who has the ability to manage multiple tasks and be flexible often dealing with ad-hoc queries from customersValid Driver's LicenseIf you are a team player with high levels of motivation and results driven, and are able to work autonomously you will flourish in this role.
