About the role Working 80 Hours per fortnight (part time may be available), you will be responsible for providing family support services for a range of clients based at our Wairarapa office and help with duties to support the team. You will be responsible for working with clients by support them when they need it the most. Tasks and responsibilities will include: Doing assessments and intakes. Group facilitation (depending on the skills you possess). Assisting our team with social work support activities which can include picking up food parcels for people within the community or helping them with any appointments. Travel into the community and homes of our clients when required. Helping with restorative justice requirements (restorative justice facilitation training will be provided) Mo koe - About You We are looking for an empathetic and passionate person who enjoys working with tamariki and their families/whanau. Our ideal candidate will have a natural desire to positively contribute towards enabling positive outcomes for people in our community. Your approach to your work will be with kindness, and above all, the drive to do right by the individual; to work with them to identify and realize personal outcomes that make a difference to in their lives.You will also have: Some life experience working with tamariki and whanau. Some knowledge of child and adolescent development, protecting the safety and rights of children, and family dynamics. Experience working in a culturally diverse environment is preferred but not essential; however, training and development can be provided for the right person. A genuine passion and previous experience working with children and families/whanau. Some experience working with family violence which is preferable, but not essential. A qualification or be working towards one in social/community work is preferred. A natural tendency to be a strong networker with community stakeholders and enjoy developing new professional networks for your client group. What's in it for me?
