Experienced Cafe Chef Wanted

JJcafe in Palmerston North is urgently looking for a full-time café chef to join our friendly team.
Our café opens from Monday to Friday 7 am ~3:30 pm so you will have your weekends off.
We are looking for a full-time chef to be sole in charge of our kitchen. This job would suit someone who has at least 3 years’ full-time experience working in a busy commercial kitchen and minimum 1-year full-time baking experience. You will need to have a diploma in culinary& patisserie. Asian Fusion cuisine experience will be a bonus.

The right candidate should meet the following criteria:
Be responsible for planning, organizing and running a busy kitchen, breakfast, lunch and baking section.
Experienced in fast past café, sense of urgency.
Experienced in quality kitchens with a good understanding of quality and kitchen hygiene standard.
Experienced in preparing and designing baked goods, patisseries, salad, sandwiches and menu food with high quality and creativity.
Must have experience in menu designing and food costing.
Must have a high standard of food hygiene.
Solid knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on high quality, efficiency and presentation
Maintain food control plans and keep records up to date.
Strong knowledge of FCP and H&S at cafe level.
Minimize food wastage and labour cost.
Stock check and ordering.
Handling kitchen pre/cleaning & maintenance.
Monitoring the quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation.
Supervise and training kitchen staffs.
May advertise and select kitchen staff if needed.
Ensure all communications between F.O.H and kitchen run smoothly.
Need to have excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
