Details of the offer

Executive Director Survivor Experience Service at Department of Internal Affairs, Wellington Type: Fixed-term
Hours: Full time
Location: Wellington
Business Group: Survivor Experience Service
Branch: Enterprise Partnerships
The Survivor Experiences Service aims to create a safe, supportive place for survivors of abuse in care to share their experiences. It is an interim service until a permanent redress system is established, likely in 2025.
We are looking for an experienced Executive Director who can work closely with the Survivor Experiences Service Board to deliver a high quality, confidential service that is responsive to the needs of survivors.
We aspire to provide a Service that is accessible to all communities, especially those who have historically faced greater barriers to accessing support services, and one that is strongly grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
The Service is hosted within the Department of Internal Affairs, to provide the crucial independence required.
If you are a public sector leader with a proven ability to build strong, effective and meaningful relationships at a community and Ministerial level, have deep understanding of the importance of independent listening services and are driven by a desire to support those impacted by abuse in care, then we welcome your application.
