Details of the offer

We want more good people to come and do great things with us.

We love where we live. That's why we work so hard to look after our region and the people who live and work in the Waikato region.

Our work is as diverse as the region we care for; from the tip of the Coromandel Peninsula to the slopes of Ruapehu. We've got ambitious goals and there are some tricky issues, but that's what makes it so interesting.

Our team is looking for a savvy executive assistant with superb organisational and communication skills, an unflappable approach and the agility to stay two steps ahead of our busy Chief Executive.

Working in a dynamic, high profile role in the Office of the Chief Executive, you will have the ability to develop a deep understanding of the council's priorities and its stakeholders' needs in order to effectively manage executive team workflows.

It's important that you can exercise sound judgement, maintain strong internal and external relationships, deal with high level, urgent and confidential issues and mentor other support staff where appropriate.

On the day to day tasks, you will be responsible for diary management, managing telephone calls, emails and other communication, preparation of documentation, arranging travel, event management, working with the wider support team and other general administrative tasks as required.

To be successful in this role you need to have:

Experience at a senior level Strong organisational skills, able to juggle multiple tasks, manage competing priorities Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications and diary management Sharp eye for detail and a high level of accuracy Ability to form and maintain effective relationships both internally and externally Excellent verbal and written communication skill, including the ability to pronounce Te Reo Motivation and a positive and pro-active approach to your work Ability to stay calm in a dynamic and changing environment
