We enjoy spot lunches, and great Christmas get-togethers and encourage and offer opportunities to current employees to grow and develop their skills - sometimes even moving around the country to another yard!The Excavator Operator is responsible for working safely and efficiently, including but not limited to:ALL OPERATORS MUST BE SIGNED OFF FOR EACH ACTIVITY BEFORE CARRYING OUT THE TASK, AND THE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES ARE AS BELOW:Receiving and moving materials ensuring handling is kept to a minimumSort material using grading techniquesSpecialist baler operationSpecialist scrap handler operationSpecialist alligator shear operationCollecting/delivering scrap material when requiredEnsure quality standards are metCarry out stock control checks if requiredEnsure all processing tasks are safely completed to the required standardsPack materials into appropriate containersCarrying out other processing tasks as directed and to the required standardsCarry out stock takes as requiredRoutine daily checks of all plant and equipment related to your taskUse tools and equipment as directed and as per company proceduresEnsure tools and equipment are used safely and are appropriately maintained. Inform your manager or maintenance team if issues are identifiedCarry out housekeeping tasks as directed and to a high standardEnsure all health and safety requirements are metCarry out any other tasks as directed by management and to the required standardsHours of work:A minimum of 30 hours of work are guaranteed.
