Changes are afoot and we have an exciting opportunity for an Estimator to join our busy team based in Hastings. You will need to be an individual who will add value to our close-knit team by working across a range of civil infrastructure projects. You will need to have civil infrastructure experience.
Reporting to the Regional Tendering Manager, you will be part of a high performing team to ensure we deliver quality estimating and bid submissions and being part of the success of a well-established local Tier 1 contractor.
About the role
As our Estimator, you will be a liaison with senior management on bid strategy, tender preparation and estimating, negotiation and handover, and evaluation and performance appraisal of subcontractors and suppliers - just to name a few! Along with these responsibilities, you will also:
Co-ordinate pre-letting negotiations and respond to clarification requestsContribute to the compilation of tender risk and opportunity registersProvide assistance to project management roles across the business. Where required, undertake the role of project managerContribute to the development of the East Coast business by identifying local market opportunities. Be aware of committed forward workload and the residual capacity of local resourcesAssist in the development of relationships with internal and external customers, providing advice and solutionsAbout you
You'll need to have proven experience in the tendering process within a demanding contracting environment. You will also have:
Ideally a formal tertiary qualification in Civil EngineeringA high degree of computer literacy including use of estimating softwareA high level written and verbal communications skillsThe ability to work closely with pairs and managementBenefits
