What about the role: We are looking for someone with estimating experience and/or some knowledge of interior construction methods and products. Our estimators manage all aspects of the measurement/takeoff and costing/pricing of projects, over the Waikato and BOP regions. They work closely with our operations team to successfully deliver the project once it is awarded. Reporting to the Commercial Manager, this is a friendly close knit team with great opportunity for development and progression. You will receive regular on-the-job and individualised training, to allow you to progress and enjoy success in the role. Core duties, but not limited to: Estimation and takeoff of incoming tenders Working with Estimation software and Internal Management software to produce clear and accurate quotes and allowance plans Following up and negotiating tenders Assisting the Operations team with active jobs (Budget Breakdowns, Payment Claims & pricing Variations) Building professional relationships with customers, suppliers & subcontractors Participating in team meetings Computer literate and familiar with takeoff/estimating software. Professional and friendly persona. High attention to detail and ability to absorb complex information. Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills. Good mathematical and problem solving skills. Ability to manage own workload & prioritise tasks. Flexible approach to carrying out tasks. Work with minimal supervision & meet deadlines. Work closely within a team environment. Happy to visit sites if required Promote our company values. Knowledge of NZ construction methods and tendering processes.
