We are now seeking applications from experienced and passionate Enrolled Nurses, preferably with Surgical and Medical Nursing experience, to help us continue to provide top quality, patient centred care on as demand requires basis (includes annual leave and sick leave cover).
About the role
Our Outpatients departments, located on the fourth floor of Dunedin Hospital, and Fredrick street caters for a variety of specialities and provides a wide range of services and support, including Day of surgery admission and pre-admissions in Ward 4B.
The key attributes include experience, knowledge and flexibility as you'll be working across various Outpatient departments under the direction and delegation of our friendly Registered Nursing team. On any given day this role could include preparing for and sending a patient to theatre, ensuring everything is ready for patients Preadmission or Outpatient appointment, completing the associated paper work, chaperoning patients, assisting with patient procedures, wound care, updating computer files, and constantly ensuring the patient journey is a smooth process.
About you
We're looking for someone who's experienced (in Dunedin Hospital would be an advantage) and organised, friendly and calm, able to work independently and at the same time genuinely interested in the best outcome for both patient and team. It is imperative that you are able to hit the ground running to provide much needed support to the team and our community.
Additionally you will need:
current registration with the New Zealand Nursing Council and a current APC, with the right to work in New Zealand
demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively with other professionals
excellent time management, interpersonal and organisational skills
the ability to be adaptable, flexible and solution focused
previous Surgical, Medical or Outpatient experience.
