About this role
The team
The CIS Branch are seeking Engineers to work in cross functional teams including:
Infrastructure – Networks, High Frequency and SATCOM, Facilities and Gateways;
Platforms – Database and ERP Platforms, Cloud Infrastructure, Core Compute, Geospatial, Hosting; and Integration & Middleware.
As part of the Communications and Information Systems (CIS) Branch you will use a range of technologies to support 14,000 personnel, many of whom are operating in geographically remote or hostile environments to protect your whanau, your country and our environment from harm.
The role
As an Engineer, you will be responsible for providing support for incidents, problems and changes. You will have key involvement in the development of new products and product enhancements as part of a DevOps team. You will work, from time to time, with other product teams to ensure that mutually beneficial goals are achieved.
Technical skills
Knowledge of, exposure to, one or more of the following:
Microsoft products (SharePoint, Windows Server, SQL Server);
Azure Platform and Azure Stack;
VMware platforms and tools;
Oracle and/or SQL Database;
IP Networking;
Server Monitoring and Management Tools;
Knowledge of NZISM and ITIL;
Identity and access management technologies and platforms;
Cryptographic e.g. HSM;
Enterprise PKI;
Cisco, Juniper, Netscaler or related technologies.
Experience:
An IT related degree or certification; and/or,
Worked in an IT environment;
Experience with IT Security is advantageous;
Azure Fundamental and other relevant Microsoft certifications is advantageous;
CCNA/CCNP would be advantageous.???????
