You will be able to lead the district service, ensuring that people and financial resources are maximised in delivering effective services to the organisation. To ensure development, planning and implementation of emergency management systems and engagement strategies at a district level, including reporting on progress and ensuring objectives are achieved. Provide leadership to the wider district leadership team as part of on-call arrangements to support emergency threat assessments and response requirements.  Lead the district response to, and recovery from, emergencies with a health component. This includes providing local leadership and leading the activation and running of a district Health Coordination Centre.  Multiple years of experience (in the range of 7+ years) in both a strategic and operational setting at an intermediate/senior level in a large complex organisation in emergency management and capacity/operational service delivery. This includes leading the development, planning and implementation of emergency management systems and engagement strategies, reporting on progress and ensuring objectives are achieved The ability to develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at district levels, to work in a range of settings, at all levels, in the Health and Disability Sector, in, with, or across other government agencies. Experience making decisions and problem solving in ambiguous and complex environments, both strategically and in an operational setting. This is complemented by having strong verbal and written communication skills, and by being adaptable Demonstrated experience in engaging with iwi, hapu and Maori communities and organisations to ensure key stakeholders are reflected throughout all emergency management strategies and planning. Sound knowledge of the Machinery of Government  Demonstrated understanding of the Civil Defence Emergency Management (CDEM) Act 2002 and the CDEM Plan Order 2005 A commitment to being a good Te Tiriti partner in all your actions.
