Details of the offer

Interesting and different Electricians role on Traffic Signals. Some night work will allow you to go fishing/golf when the crowds aren't out there!
Traffic Signals are continuously developing in complexity and are one of those essential services to keep the public safe and free from gridlock on the roads. This company is at the leading edge on all forms of Traffic Signals and Traffic Management Technology from intersection Lights through to digital message boards, sensors, cameras, automatic toll systems and everything else electronic on our road corridors and with an eye to the future of "Smart City" technology.
The role will include a mix of new build/installs as well as maintenance. You enjoy the mixture of using traditional electrical fault finding techniques alongside using your laptop to access fault logs and programmes for diagnostics The work sites by default will be out-door - there's no working in confined spaces.
The right candidate will enjoy the element of surprise being on an on-call roster and not knowing where you'll be called to next. On a daily basis the work will consist roughly of the following:
30% generic sparky work
30% mechanical - general set up of hardware - cabinets cable systems and associated equipment
10% computer/controller work
30% general work around the site of the signals installation which is a civil build site
If you're a fisherman, golfer or have any other interests whereby having some daytime availability would enable you to enjoy it more; this is a great opportunity to gain lifestyle. When night work is needed, you’ll have days off when every man and his dog is also not out there clogging up the Golf Course or the Boat Ramp like what happens on weekends.
The role will be paying very attractive competitive rates for the right candidate, frequently offers O/T and includes a company vehicle.
To be eligible for this role, you must have Full NZ Electrical Registration. You also will need experience in Controls and quite good computer skills. You must want to live and work in Auckland and have a valid NZ Work Visa.
