Mo te Karearea Falcon Trust – About the Karearea Falcon Trust The Karearea Falcon Trust is a community-led conservation based charitable trust. The Trust manages a state of the art breeding and rehabilitation facility located in rural Marlborough. We currently have 18 karearea in our care, this number fluctuates according to the number of birds being rehabilitated and released from our breeding programme. To date we are proud to have released 83 karearea from our breeding programme back into the wild. As a Trust we work closely with the Department of Conservation (DOC) under their permits to care for the karearea and to spread a conservation message to the community and visitors. We also work closely with our sponsors who help fund the Trust's work as well as numerous other contributors. He angitutanga – About the role As the Education & Administration Coordinator for the Karearea Falcon Trust you will lead the Karearea Falcons in Marlborough Schools Programme sponsored by Marlborough Lines Ltd. This is a programme designed for year 3 & 4 students and is delivered in Term 2 and Term 3. You will also assist the Manager with other advocacy activities that run throughout the year and provide administrative cover including managing email enquiries, bookings, tour sales, merchandising and other ad hoc administrative tasks to ensure smooth operations at KFT. The Education & Administration Coordinator reports to the Manager of the Karearea Falcon Trust. Nga pukenga me nga wheako – Skills and experience Enthusiastic and passionate about wildlife conservation An excellent communicator who can adapt information to engage a variety of audiences Experience in Primary School education will be an advantage but not essential Strong computer literacy, or an ability to learn new skills quickly Organised and proactive team member Ability to work independently and take initiative when required.
