Details of the offer

Domain Architect Business and Single Services Support

Domain Architect – Business and Single Services Support
Help build a new way of working in this green field’s opportunity while gaining enviable experience in a significant transformation project.
The team:
In our newly created Tower Architect role you will work in the Business and Single Services Support product tower within the Service Portfolios directorate. This area delivers applications and services grouped into products to end users. In this role you will develop a deep understanding of the Business and Single Services Support business, and deliver key enabling systems based on the ICT Strategy and Vision set by the Architecture, Policy and Design group. You will develop a sound understanding the available products, solutions and services within the Business and Single Services Support area of speciality, and provide fit-for-purpose domain level architecture, to support the delivery by product teams against the business driven roadmaps.
The role:
There is cross dependency with other business and technical areas in this role, therefore the Domain Architect will have a pivotal role in supporting the cohesion and consistency of ICT architecture and solutions across the Defence Information Environment. You will contribute to the continuous development of the environment by providing innovative thinking and creativity, and supporting the standardisation of tools and products, which can be used and reused across the NZDF through Reference Architectures, which are aligned with the Enterprise Architecture function.
It’s essential that you have excellent communication with your peer group which enables you to identify and mitigate impacts arising from changes to their respective products (whether driven by vendor change roadmap or the product roadmap) and understanding how this will flow across the product landscape. You will also work closely to advise the Product Manager, Product Owner and business stakeholders on the limitations and constraints to the required deliverable, and identify impacts on towers across CIS Branch.
Technical skills:
Demonstrable experience with ERP system (preferably SAP) deployed in a complex environment.
Experience of a range of Bespoke and COTS solutions, and associated integrations between these systems.
Comfortable with processes and procedures for deploying and managing solutions across a wide range of platforms, including traditional on premise and Cloud platforms.
Knowledge and understanding of application build and release processes using Agile delivery methods and incremental release approaches, particularly using a Product Development model.
Recent hands-on architecture and design experience in Application Consolidation, Migration and Decommissioning approaches and processes.
Demonstrate the ability to support continual improvement activities, with a learning mind-set and the ability to adapt ways of working
Additional skills:
Experience in, or knowledge of:
Architecture frameworks and methods such as TOGAF
Product Management or demonstrated leadership in a similar role.
Building positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholder groups across the organisation.
The Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and/or product lifecycle.
Thorough understanding of the agile methodologies.

Role closes Tuesday 9th February 2020 at 9am.
BEFORE YOU APPLY
Please note: Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand (NZ) and be able to obtain and maintain the required level of NZ Government security clearance for the position applied for.
The majority of roles in the CIS branch within NZDF require a high level security clearance at either Secret or Top Secret Level. The minimum citizenship and residency criteria for the high level security clearances to be granted by the NZ Defence Force are as follows:
• most preferably a NZ citizen, who has resided in this country continuously for at least the last fifteen years, OR
• is a citizen of, and/or has resided continuously in one or more of the following countries for the last fifteen years: either Australia, Canada, NZ, the United Kingdom (UK) or the United States of America (USA); and has a background history that is verifiable and can be assessed as appropriate by the NZ Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) towards a recommendation of suitability for a security clearance at this level.
If you do not meet these minimum criteria, we will not be able to accept your application. Use this online tool to self-check your eligibility for a security clearance. Please note that this tool is not part of the formal security clearance process: *****
