Full time, Fixed term, Start Date: 06/05/2024, End Date: 12/12/2025 (A specific short term curriculum need)Secondary (Years 7–15) / wharekura, Certificated teacherEnglish, Health and physical education, Learning languages, Mathematics and statistics, Science, Social sciences, Technology, Te reo Maori, The artsWe seek a dynamic, dedicated and effective director to lead and manage our Services Academy.Key responsibilities include:Day-to-day operations of our Services Academy in accordance with the Services Academy Operational Guidelines and Programme.Adherance to the school's policies and procedures to delivery a high-quality programme.Working closely with our students, staff, organisations, other Services Academy schools, New Zealand Defence Forces and the community.Improving levels of engagement and achievement of our students.Identifying and facilitating the development of student leadership in our school.Overseeing effective communication and publicity of our Services Academy within the school and community.Reporting to the principal or their designate.The successful candidate must have:Proven military expertise as a member of one of the Defences Forces; Army, Navy or Airforce.The ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff, organisations and other Services Academy schools, New Zealand Defence Forces, and the community.Effective and efficient communication skills.Exemplary personal standards.The successful candidate will need to be available to work evenings and weekends as required.
