We are looking to grow the product team out of our Auckland office. As one of our Development Managers, you'll have a rare opportunity to drive the next steps on a direct revenue SaaS product.
What is a Development Manager at Xero?
You will be responsible for the product development teams working on Xero's products and their technical practices and standards. Your job, along with your development manager peers, is to build a cohesive thought-leading engineering community which rapidly delivers value to our customers and continually improves. By doing so you'll contribute to Xero achieving its goals.
What you'll do?
- Understanding customer problems; you will be the champion of the 'what' and the 'how' and deliver value through defining, driving and executing a product roadmap aligned with Xero's small business portfolio
- Bridging technical and business worlds as you collaborate with product, design and go-to-market teams to deliver on market needs and priorities
- Working closely with your peers across Xero to deliver quality software with amazing user experiences that tackle real customer problems

Part of this will be establishing management and peer feedback mechanisms for your team, that support high performance and personal and professional development. You won't do it alone! What we need from you:
- You have a strong leadership background, leading and building engineering teams
- You will have heaps of experience working with software development projects at scale
- You have demonstrated experience in defining software development best-practice through experimentation and observation of successes
- You have a strong track record of driving and influencing architectural change
