Dev Ops Engineer (Systems & Partner Solutions) We Go Beyond for A Safer World Te Turanga - The Role We are looking for a Dev Ops Engineer to join Tait Communications to lead established and growth of our DevOps practice. You will be working within our Operations group's Systems & Solutions Validation Team to provide a mix of technical skills & Services (anchored around Linux System Administration, ITOPs and CI/CD eco-systems) You will be working with both our internal Engineering stakeholders and our Solution Partners to implement complex solution architecture and automate deployments so that we can deliver Tait's systems and partner solutions at speed and scale to meet our Strategy and Technology roadmap. This position reports to the Systems and Solutions Validation Manager. The duties of the role will include: Being involved in a Customer environment which will span across ( LMR, Applications, SaaS and Partner solution portfolios)Working with Tait's Systems & Partner Solutions which cover ecosystems of LMR products & microservices based containerized solutions, developed by internal Teams and our partners. You will provide DevOps expertise/service during Development (pre-go live) life cycle of Engineering projects (ideally as left of the cycle as pragmatic) and of Partner SolutionsIncreasing integration of SAST and DAST tool chain with SSV CI/CD pipelines and facilitate keeping SSV application/solution environments on a secure/up to date (security wise) trajectory.Sharing knowledge and coaching peer SSV members and Engineering projects on DevOps skills and best practices (to uplift capability across Operations and increase self-reliance)O pukenga - About You To be successful in this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent) As well as: Required: At least 4 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer/Sys Admin of Linux based systems (Preferably at the confluence of Microservices based containerized applications and Software/Products)Proven track record in design & implementation of solution architecture using contemporary DevOps eco-systems (e.g Gitlab/Azure Devops/AWS/GCP) and use of containerized tool chains (based on Docker, Kubernetes)Pproven competency with a scripting language (Shell scripting preferred) and/or OOP languageProven competency in automating deployments, scaling/downscaling of deployment footprints and architectures (for both on-prem and cloud solutions)Proven experience in owning and driving improvements of development/deployment processes.Preferred: Experience and/or interest in Securing configuration/deployment of Systems and Solutions (e.g. through threat modelling, vulnerability scanning and patching of applications & infrastructure), with the strategic intent of moving towards DevSecOps from DevOps )Experience with Deployment Automation platforms like Puppet, Ansible will be an advantage!Nga painga - what's in it for you?
