You will have lots of autonomy and get to develop professional, technically sound, compliant and user friendly design drawings and specification using Solidworks. This includes interacting directly with the client to gain a full understanding their requirements and expectations.You will also get to provide innovative input into the planning for new projects , establish project budgets, and support project managers on key projects, ensuring variations are documented and effectively managed. Furthermore, you will get to expand your estimating skills, preparing market competitive pricing and proposals for a diverse range of customer work, as well as overseeing delivery of successful estimates.About you Qualified in mechanical engineering design or similar, and with solid hands-on drafting experience, you ideally have: A sound understanding of estimating complex projects in an engineering related sector Proven proficiency using standard office systems and CAD software, ideally Solidworks A background in trade based engineering plus the ability to read, understand and interpret engineering drawings Sound understanding of the properties of engineering materials Understanding of technical standards and codes of engineering design High level of flexibility capable of working across diverse projects and industries simultaneously Highly customer driven, able to build rapport quickly and become a trusted source of professional advice.
