In this role you will help create a vibrant, live on-air experienceto our listeners utilising a wide range of story-telling techniques. You'll be a team player who thrives on the challenge ofbreaking and delivering news stories and interviews in a fast paced andrefreshing way. You'll be brimming with ideas for both packages andinterviews, know how to take a story forward and have experience lining up ashow. Te Mahi – About the jobThe responsibilities of therole will include: Initiate fresh interviews and story ideas.Attend daily news meetings/producer/reportermeetings brimming with ideas.Research, write and set-up daily news stories/interviews.Edit and sub news packages and scripts,including mentoring more junior members and ensuring scripts are factually andlegally sound and, follow RNZ Editorial Quality guidelines.Planning news coverage taking into account breaking news priorities, while also continuing to build on Checkpoints greatlegacy of covering stories that matter to NZ.Contribute to the development, running andreporting of the budget process as required.Provide strong support and back-up to theExecutive Editor and fill in as/when required.Our ideal candidate will be anexperienced senior journalist/producer who loves working as part of a broaderteam and collaboratively with others.
