Data Analyst
We currently require a Part Time (0.4 FTE) Data Analyst on a 12 month contract to join the Adolescent Health group.
The Data Analyst will assist with project data analysis for 2000 stories: The Victorian Adolescent Health Cohort Study (VAHCS) and The Victorian Intergenerational Health Cohort Study (VIHCS). The primary focus will be on analysis of data from the previous waves of VAHCS and the perinatal waves of VIHCS, as well as the early development of analysis methods for the 11th wave of VAHCS and the 4th wave of VIHCS, , and assistance in preparing findings for publication and presentation. A key responsibility of this role is the provision of analysis advice and support to investigators and collaborators. The analysis design will be undertaken with senior members of the investigator team.
Responsibilities:
With minimal technical guidance, undertake statistical analyses using a range of commonly used epidemiological approaches, in support of and collaboration with the research team.
Under supervision from senior biostatisticians, undertake more complex analyses where required.
Assist in the preparation of material, including graphical and tabular presentations, for journal submissions, meetings, presentations and other output as needed.
Provide advice and assistance where needed on data management, statistical software, and methods of analysis to the project teams, students and collaborators.
Provide advice and guidance to authors and collaborators in refining of research questions and development of analysis plans.
Derivation of key variables and data subsets for collaborators analyses.
Supervise routine data cleaning and analysis work by junior data team members.

Key Selection Criteria
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential:
A Masters level qualification in statistics, biostatistics or related discipline
Familiarity with the Stata statistical package.
Experience in the application of statistical methods to public health research.
Experience in analysing and managing complex datasets for research studies.
Good problem-solving skills and the ability to take initiative.
Highly motivated and reliable, with strong time management skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a dynamic, collaborative team.
Experience in working with collaborators to progress publication output.
High level of professionalism, integrity, and sensitivity to confidentiality and privacy.
Working with Children & National Police Clearance (if appointed) in compliance with the Victorian Governments Child Safety Standards.
