Daffodil Day Event/Volunteering Coordinator Cancer Society Auckland Northland Event Management (Marketing & Communications) We're looking for a passionate individual to join us as a Daffodil Day Event/Volunteering Coordinator! About Us The Cancer Society's mission is to improve community wellbeing by reducing the incidence and impact of cancer. Reducing Cancer inequities is a priority for the organisation, especially for Maori who experience a disproportionately high burden of cancer mortality and morbidity. Te Tiriti o Waitangi is the founding document that guides our work to address this inequity. Our iconic Daffodil Day campaign is a cornerstone of our efforts, bringing hope and awareness to communities across New Zealand. Your Role As our Daffodil Day Event/Volunteering Coordinator, you'll play a crucial role in the success of our campaign. Your responsibilities will include: Coordinating the Daffodil Day Campaign and Street Appeal for Whangarei and the Northland (Te Tai Tokerau) area Recruiting and managing volunteers to support our street appeal Collaborating with local and Auckland-based teams to ensure seamless execution Taking ownership of tasks and showing initiative to overcome challenges Utilizing your background in events and/or the not-for-profit sector to drive results The role starts at 3 - 5 hours per week, building up to full-time as we approach Daffodil Day. It is fixed term, starting in May and ending by mid-September.
