Curtain Sewer

We are looking for a Curtain Sewer in our busy Tauranga workroom.
This is a full-time permanent position and will consist of manufacturing drapery and other soft furnishings using industrial sewing machines.
To be considered for this position you must have proven experience in a curtain/soft furnishing role where you have worked with the sewing machinery described in this advertisement. You should have excellent communication skills (both written and spoken) and be able to work independently to reach goals. You must have a keen eye for detail and must be able to accurately follow paperwork.
We are looking for a person who has excellent knowledge of fabrics and curtain styles as fabrics are varied and need to be handled differently. You will be allocated jobs by our Workroom Supervisor to your station to prepare the product as specified and your tasks will include (but is not limited to) measuring, pressing, and sewing using flat machines, overlockers and blind hemmers.
All short-listed candidates will need to go through a sewing trial before being offered the position to ensure that you will be able to successfully fill this position. You must have reliable transportation to come to work and must be able to work some early starts or late finishes as necessary.
