Public Relations & Corporate Affairs (Marketing & Communications)The United States of America Consulate General in Auckland invites applications from all interested candidates for the full-time position of Cultural Affairs Coordinator.Under the supervision of the Public Engagement Specialist in Auckland, the incumbent will coordinate U.S. Mission Public Diplomacy (PD) outreach to Emerging Voices (EV) audiences. As national lead for EV Pacific diaspora and/or Maori audiences in New Zealand, the incumbent will produce targeted activities related to U.S. policy goals in New Zealand. Coordinates outreach to EV audiences with a focus on innovation, film, television, literature, and other creative industries. Designs, develops, and implements plans and oversees a range of outreach activities in support of U.S. Mission goals. This role will require travel throughout New Zealand.To be successful in the role you will have:University degree in, Communications, International Relations, Marketing, Maori and/or Pacific Studies or local equivalentA minimum of three years of progressively responsible experience in a multicultural, multinational, government or private sector work environment with marketing, public relations, communication, or education duties as a significant part of the job is required.A thorough understanding of the attitudes and preferences of the EV audience sector in New Zealand, including the regional, ethnic, socioeconomic, cultural, and linguistic factors and the religious and education institutions that shape those attitudes, is required.Knowledge of typical customer service and marketing tools designed to engage specific audience segments, particularly the EV sector, in New Zealand is required.Knowledge of te reo Maori is preferred.Strong presentation and writing abilities and exceptional customer service skills.Ability to develop and maintain key contacts within relevant cultural sectors, institutions and organizations.The salary range for this position is NZD $82,652-111,573per annum (actual starting salary will be commensurate with experience and internal equities).
