Mo te Turanga | About the Role We are looking to appoint an experienced lawyer into the Crown Legal Risk Group. We would like to hear from experienced lawyers who are interested in:
advice work, litigation, mediation and negotiation for the Crown, working alongside experienced lawyers; and joining a diverse team of great people, who are committed to a collegial, supportive and enjoyable environment, and care about the issues they are working on. A Crown Counsel role in the Crown Legal Risk Group offers:
cutting-edge work spanning a range of areas of law; development opportunities for anyone wanting to pursue a career in public law; contact with Ministers; autonomy in terms of taking charge of files; building and maintaining client relationships; and opportunities to mentor and develop junior staff. We would like to talk to people with a range of skillsets. We are interested in public and private sector experience, practical problem-solving skills, and people skills. We do not require litigation experience.
Location: Te Whanganui-a-Tara | Wellington This role is Wellington based and located next to Wellington bus and train station. We also support different flexible working arrangements to enable us to be at our best. Please talk to us about how we can make this work for you.
Remuneration and Benefits The starting salary range for this role is $114,585-$187,839. The appointing salary will be based on the level of skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role.
In addition, you will also receive additional benefits such as an annual wellness payment, funding for professional memberships and study, 5 weeks annual leave plus 3 additional leave days (Crown Law days) and opportunities for development and growth across Crown Law.
