Courier Driver

Balli Limited is a small family-owned courier company based in Christchurch. Our business is expanding quickly and we have vacancies for full-time Courier Drivers. Your job will be to collect mail parcels and packages from our client and to deliver them to customers based around Christchurch City. Hours of work will range between 5:00 am to 6:00 pm on weekdays and 11 am-7 pm on Sundays with a guaranteed 32 hours of work per week. Candidates for this job will need a full driver's license and must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle. A sound knowledge of the Christchurch motorway system would be an advantage but is not essential. Duties will include: Collecting items for delivery from our client's premises. Assisting with loading and unloading the van. Monitoring the roads to ensure the most efficient routes are taken to and from the various delivery and pick-up locations. Delivering mail parcels and packages to customers' businesses and homes. Collecting signatures from customers and completing paperwork. Maintaining delivery and collection records (electronic and paper). Obeying the road rules and meeting health and safety requirements. Carrying out regular maintenance checks on the van. Keeping the van clean and tidy. Must be committed to work on Saturday and Sunday. To be suitable for this role you must: Pass a pre-employment drug test (for insurance and health and safety requirements). Hold a full driver's license. Hold a dangerous good license  Must be able to operate a manual transmission vehicle. Have a level 1 qualification or have completed compulsory secondary education. Be physically fit as this is an active job that will require heavy lifting up to 25kg and constantly being on the go.
