The right to work in New Zealand or a work visa with at least 12 months remainingA full New Zealand Driver Licence (or eligible on a Restricted with 3 or less months left to obtain Full, or a Full International Licence)To declare any conflicts of interest and previous convictions. Exempt from Clean Slate and all conviction history is releasedThe ability to pass a drug testBe medically fit for employment and complete a Medical Assessment and Physical Readiness AssessmentOur prisons operate 24/7 - applicants must be able to work shifts on a rotating roster.

We offer fully paid training, starting with a one-week induction at Whanganui Regional Prison, followed by 5 weeks of training at our National Training Centre in Trentham, Wellington, and then 5 weeks back at Whanganui prison before graduating. Your learning journey will continue with professional practice and development support, along with a clear pathway to career progression.
In return you'll get opportunities for professional development, promotion and the ability to gain a recognised qualification in Offender Management.
This role is based at Whanganui Prison, however, you may have the opportunity to be based at other site within the Manawatu, Whanganui and Taranaki region.
Starting salary of $65,019.Once in the role you have the opportunity to achieve national qualifications of varying levels which increase your salary. Level 3 ($69,697) and Level 4 ($75,213)
You also receive a Variable Shift Allowance in addition to your salary.
